MOBILE, Ala. ( WALA ) - Baldwin County Sheriff’s investigators said a night of football and drinking led to the shooting death of a Foley man Sunday morning, his friend of more than 30-years now charged with the murder. Bond was set Monday, September 9, 2024 on that murder charge.

The Baldwin County Solid Waste Disposal Authority is nearing completion of its new, $25-million-dollar recycling center. Once finished, the MRF will be a game-changer for municipalities who’ve been taking recyclables across state lines or putting programs on hold because of the expense.

The city is currently conducting a comprehensive traffic study related to speeding and congestion on city streets. GULF SHORES, Ala. ( WALA ) - It was a bizarre bust Wednesday night, September 18, 2024 in Gulf Shores that had a lot of folks around town and even the police scratching their heads. Nearly 2,000 pounds of berries that police said were illegally plucked from palmetto plants on the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge were found in the back of a truck. It was thanks to an alert passerby who saw men walking out of the woods with sacks over their shoulders and called police, that they were able to make the stop.

( WALA ) - With so many people in our area wanting to help those suffering from disaster in the wake of Hurricane Helene, there are some groups in Baldwin County who are making it easier to do so. Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) has set up several convenient drop points along the eastern shore in Fairhope.

FOLEY, Ala. ( WALA ) - The largest Goodwill store on the gulf coast will soon be coming to Foley. An official groundbreaking was held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 on the facility. This will be the eleventh retail store across Goodwill Gulf Coast’s 10-county area and will also be the largest.
