BATON ROUGE - In June of 2024, five members of the Metro Council at the time, Cleve Dunn, Carolyn Coleman, Darryl Hurst, Chauna Banks, and LaMont Cole, along with two Baton Rouge residents, filed a lawsuit against the city-paris h over a map passed by the Metro Council in 2022, which they claim weakened black voting strength, violating the Constitution, and the Voting Rights Act.

ST. GEORGE - The City of St. George currently has one library within city limits, and another about 400 to 500 feet outside city limits.

BATON ROUGE - Over $1 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will now go towards renovating office space at the Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters, to house the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force.
