The Venice International Film Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious in the world, and Israeli films have been embraced there with enthusiasm in the past.

TV Time: This week's picks include classic action, a psychological thriller, and some of Dolly Parton's most memorable screen roles.

Venice4Palestine collective, an anti-Israel activist group, published a letter calling on the Venice International Film Festival and the rest of the film industry to condemn Israel.

The animated short by Israeli director Eyal Padan will be screened on September 13 at the Marina Theatre in San Francisco as part of the festival.

This year, seven narrative features and five documentaries will compete together in the Israeli competition, an innovation introduced by the festival's artistic director, Yaron Shamir.
