Advocate Narendra Kumar Jeet, or N.K. Jeet, who played a pivotal role in strengthening the revolutionary democratic movement in Punjab, passed away on April 17 at the age of 79. He dedicated more than five and a half decades of his life to this cause, consistently standing at the forefront of democratic struggles. In my view, N.K. Jeet acted as a fulcrum in building one of the most organised open mass democratic movements in the country, particularly in Punjab. He was among the most respected and admired activists of this movement. Though he has passed, his spirit continues to inspire the struggle for justice.
