Eli Lilly is gearing up to spend $378 million on a facility to manufacture ingredients for its new GLP-1 pill in Houston. The Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company filed permits for five buildings under the Project Houston banner, which is set for 12550 Timber Forest Drive. Estimated completion dates for the first five buildings are pegged from summer to winter 2027. The facility is expected to be fully completed by 2030. The total size of the first series of buildings is just under 700,000 square feet.

🏆New Construction: The city of Dallas filed permits to drop $156 million on a new Police training facility featuring an academy, reality based training, a physical training pavilion and a criminal justice center. Dallas is set to begin construction on the buildings on Nov. 1 of this year, and complete them by June 2028. The campus, which totals six buildings and about 272,600 square feet, will be going up at 1800 East Camp Wisdom Road.

🏆New Construction: Ashton Woods and Starlight filed plans for more homes, infrastructure and an amenity center in the Carmel East development in Pflugerville, totaling $542 million. The homes and the amenity center are in phases three and four of the Carmel development. The amenity center is set to span more than 2,787,000 square feet, with the new homes spanning 3,894,000 square feet. The projects appear to have begun at the start of the year, are all along Carmel Rancho Avenue and are slated for completion in May 2027.

Dallas-based data center developer DataBank filed a permit for a $325 million project in Red Oak, a town about 20 miles south of Downtown Dallas. The 444,000-square-foot data center at 3600 Batchler Road will be two stories tall with an office component and is set to be delivered by the end of the year. DataBank's Red Oak campus has four completed data centers across 290 acres, and will have eight at full build-out.
