Pace has quietly introduced its new diesel-electric hybrid buses to the northwest suburbs. They are hard to miss. The suburban bus transit agency gave them a very distinct, visible wrapping. Instead of the usual blue and black color scheme, they are blue on the front and green on the back, with a white lightning bolt separating the two halves. The lightning bolt has a prominent “HE” logo and “hybrid-electric” written out in smaller letters at the front of the bus, near the drivers’ cab.

Park Ridge developer Victory Ground is set to appear at tonight's (Tuesday) Park Ridge Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, which will be held at the Park Ridge City Hall at 7 p.m. According to documents submitted to the commission, Victory’s proposal is broadly similar to what went before PZC on June 6. The developer is still proposing to build a five-story boutique hotel and a multi-family home on the east side of Third Street between Touhy Avenue and Garden Street.
The Park Ridge Park District Board of Commissioners voted unanimously last Thursday (Aug. 20) to allow the Rotary Club of Park Ridge to install a 7-foot “Peace Pole” on the east side of Hodges Park, approximately 30 feet from the fountain and 15 feet from the Vine Avenue sidewalk.
