Dolby Laboratories and LG Electronics have unveiled the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is a powerful yet simple-to-use technology that allows users to connect wireless speakers to their TV and place them in locations that fit the décor and layout of the room. According to Dolby, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect delivers “the flexibility to place your wireless speakers anywhere you choose, intelligently optimizing your Dolby Atmos experience for your seating location, TV, and speaker setup.” LG says that a Sound Suite system can be expanded over time; simply add additional speakers as your audio needs grow. At the heart of the system is the H7 soundbar, which LG says is the world’s first to be powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. As such, it extends the technology into a completely new (and extremely popular) category of audio devices. LG says that Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will also be supported by its new lineup of premium TVs, which will be introduced at CES 2026. Perhaps the best news is that select 2025 LG TVs will also support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect after a future software update.

Klipsch is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, so perhaps it’s no surprise that the brand went big at CES 2026. The American speaker manufacturer introduced of the next generation of its popular powered speakers at the show. The Fives II ($1,399.99/pair), The Sevens II ($1,999.99/pair), and The Nines II ($2,399.99/pair) still use Klipsch’s patented horn-loaded technology, but the internal electronics are now designed by Onkyo’s engineers in Osaka, Japan.

Since its founding in the late 1980s, the English company dCS has remained at the forefront of high-end digital audio, producing some of the best (and most expensive) digital-to-analog converters available. After finding success designing radar systems for fighter jets, dCS built professional ADC and DAC products for studio use before turning its attention to home audio. Although the performance of dCS’s cost-no-object digital gear seems to know no bounds, the company’s products have always been limited to two channels — it’s all about pure stereo playback. Until now, that is. Making its debut at High End Vienna 2026 is the first multichannel product from dCS, the MCD 16 (pricing TBA).
