Happy Sunday, folks. It’s pretty lame that the showrunners decided to take a break in the middle of the season as soon as things got good. The Red Sox have won 13 of their last 15 and are sitting just 0.5 game back of the playoff picture with one game remaining before the All-Star break. They’ll go for the sweep today against the New York Mets, with Payton Tolle taking the mound against Zach Thornton, who’s making his third career start. Brayan Bello is also back in the mix after taking Danny Coulombe’s spot. Bello hasn’t pitched in over a week, so I wonder if there’s any consideration to having him piggyback off Tolle to help manage the workload. Injuries created one more start for Tolle before the break, something the Red Sox probably wanted to do their best to avoid.
