Everyone wants their favorite baseball team to be one of the best in the league. Unfortunately, that isn’t possible for every team. Still, baseball is a long season, and there are plenty of other reasons to watch the games and go to the ballpark. Even when you’re rooting for a team with low hopes, a summer day at the ballpark is better than a day in most other places. It’s made even better when you go home with a cheap item that will gather dust in your home for the foreseeable future.

Watching Red Sox Games Deemed Rated-R, Guardians Ruin the Fun

Around the fourth or fifth inning of tonight’s game, I started to feel as if I had already seen this game play out. I didn’t have to think back very far, because the game I had in mind played out just last week. On one side, Tanner Houck was pitching for the Red Sox, working quickly, and mowing down Guardians’ hitters, while Ben Lively did his best to match him.

Ducks refuse to migrate, stay on pond

Let’s get weird. 12 innings is a lot of innings in today’s MLB. Between ghost runners and the inability to fully shift, games are typically over long before the benches are empty. That wasn’t the case tonight though as neither team could push across more than a run through the first two-and-a-half innings of bonus baseball. Ultimately, the Red Sox came out on top after Brennan Bernardino stranded two Rays’ baserunners in the top of the 12th, and Romy Gonzalez singled home the winning run.

I can’t begin to imagine how much relief pitchers hate the current extra-inning rules. Welcome to the game. Through no fault of your own, there’s a runner on second base with nobody out. If you do your job well and get a ground ball and a flyout, you’ve likely lost the lead. Good luck!
