Amritsar, May 8 -In connection with the Punjab Government passing the ‘The Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026' without the consent of Akal Takht Amritsar and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), and to deliberate upon the apprehensions and objections being raised by Sikhs regarding the law, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan today appeared before Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj as per his directions. Amritsar: Regarding the case related to 328 sacred Birs (scriptures) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the records sought from time to time by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Punjab Government have been handed over by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) with complete transparency, and the SGPC is fully cooperating with the SIT in this matter.
