On Friday and Saturday, January 2/3, the Golden Eagles joined the other 19 teams in the conference to compete in the Laurel Highlands Championship held at Central Cambria High School. When the mats were rolled up, Tyrone had finished 10th out of 20 teams with 92.5 points. (Bishop McCort won the team title.) Ten of the thirteen wrestlers had contributed points to that team total. Placing for the Golden Eagles were Tanner Walk, 6th place at 107 with a 3-3 record; Mason VanAllman, 3rd place at 172 with a 4-1 record; and Kyle Scott, 1st place at 189 with a 4-0 record. With those four wins, Scott moved into 4th place all-time on the Tyrone wrestling wins list, passing T.J. Albright.
The 2025-26 Tyrone Golden Eagle wrestling team gathered for the last time to celebrate this past season. The varsity and junior high teams and their guests met for their annual awards banquet, Sunday, March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. The meal (pit chicken, smoked brisket, scalloped potatoes, macaroni & cheese, cowboy beans, and fresh salad) was catered by Fireman's Carry “Out” LLC, a company owned by varsity assistant coach, Jason Walls and his spouse.
