BLOOMINGTON– The Waldron Arts Center proudly presents four new shows in the galleries for May. In the Miller Gallery, Bert Gilbert presents Weather, Water, and Ash, a collection of sculptures exploring the themes composing the show’s title, specifically how they are each harbinger of the ever-present state of change in nature. Gilbert’s goal in highlighting these changes, some consistent and some more evident as climate change persists, is to celebrate an appreciation of our world to motivate work towards its preservation.

The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the appointment of Denzil Ross to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Ross currently serves as the South Central Region President at IU Health and brings a wealth of experience and leadership in healthcare management.

BLOOMINGTON- The Blooming Common Council will meet in a regular session on Wednesday, May 8. The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

WARREN COUNTY— Just before 10:30 a.m. this morning, Trooper Jeffries was patrolling State Road 63 near State Road 28 when he stopped a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer for speeding. The driver, identified as Christopher McCaa, 21, from Country Club Hills, IL, initially complied, but as Trooper Jeffries approached the vehicle, he fled northbound on State Road 63 to US 41.

The crash involved a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara passenger vehicle that allegedly fled from an Indiana State Trooper after that trooper attempted a traffic stop for suspected impaired driving behavior near the intersection of Coliseum Blvd and Goshen Road. While fleeing at a reported high rate of speed eastbound on Coliseum Blvd, the Suzuki lost control and crashed into the rear of a 2025 Chevrolet pickup truck on the St. Joe River bridge.
