Dmyterko didn’t stop until his truck was roughly the length of two football fields from the crash scene.The victims of the crash were later identified as Woodie Earl Beck III, 53, and Ashley Marie Springer McDonald, 37, according to AL.In an effort to ensure the Ukrainian national stays locked up, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer with local authorities in Alabama requesting that they hand him over upon his eventual release.The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the Biden administration let Dmyterko into the country in 2024 through its humanitarian parole program for Ukraine.That same year, he applied for a work visa and received one, DHS said.“This alien from Ukraine was paroled into our country by the Biden Administration. Now, because of his reckless driving behind the wheel of a semi-truck, two people are dead,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement earlier last month.“ICE has lodged a detainer asking Alabama officials to cooperate with us and turn him over when his sentence is complete so that we can remove him from our country,” Bis added.The Trump administration has enacted new training requirements for individuals seeking Commercial Driver’s Licenses to drive heavy trucks following a string of crashes by foreign drivers, some of whom were in the country illegally. Among the changes is the enforcement of an English-language requirement.President Donald Trump also recently introduced a plan to train American veterans to replace illegal immigrant truck drivers.The new program would allow veterans with two years of experience safely operating heavy military vehicles to bypass the traditional CDL training process, which takes roughly three to eight weeks and often costs applicants between $3,000 and $6,000.In a recent X post discussing the new program, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said he has “ZERO TOLERANCE for any Americans being put in harm’s way,” adding that it “shouldn’t be a partisan issue.”“Getting ILLEGALS and FRAUDSTERS out from behind the wheel and putting great American Veterans in the driver’s seat is one of the many ways the Department of Transportation is working tirelessly to bring safety back to our roads,” he said.

The total number of applications was more than double what the government initially expected.“What should we do with these people? Some leaders have chosen to hunt them down and deport them through operations that are both unlawful and cruel. My government has chosen a different way: a fast and simple path to regularize their immigration status,” Sánchez wrote in a New York Times op-ed in February.“MAGA-style leaders may say that our country can’t handle taking in so many migrants — that this is a suicidal move, the desperate act of a collapsing country. But don’t let them fool you. Spain is booming,” he wrote.Sánchez traveled to Ceuta on Friday after deploying the Spanish military to quell the ongoing chaos. His government has so far refused to make an emergency declaration, as requested by the local government in Ceuta, since Spain’s civil protection procedures don’t consider migration flows a risk to national security, the Associated Press reported.During his visit, Sánchez pledged to start removing some of the migrants and fortifying the maritime border.“The Government will guarantee the safety of the residents of Ceuta, intensifying the presence of the Security Forces and Corps on the city’s streets. Additionally, we will deploy a physical containment barrier in the sea to facilitate repatriation at the border, in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling,” Sánchez said.“We will expedite the repatriation files of the migrants who arrived irregularly. Heroic Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on duty arresting illegal immigrants stumbled upon a 2-year-old wandering the streets in nothing but a dirty diaper and stopped what they were doing to rescue him, The Daily Wire has learned.On July 13, ICE officers conducting a “routine enforcement operation” outside Nashville in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, an area with a large population of illegal immigrants, were stopped in their tracks when they saw a small child who was wandering alone in the road in a heavily soiled diaper and was almost struck by a passing vehicle, the agency said. It appeared that the young child had been roaming the streets for several hours without any adult supervision.The ICE officers, some of whom are fathers, quickly took the child into safety.Officer Michael Joyce, who is part of an ICE Nashville Fugitive Operations Team, said the young boy was standing in the middle of the parking lot when he arrived. The brave officer blocked traffic while his team called local police and located the child’s mother, who was asleep in a nearby apartment with the door wide-open.She appeared to be unaware that her son had wandered off.“Our officers are trained to respond to emergencies and protect the public, no matter the circumstances,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations New Orleans acting Field Office Director Scott Ladwig, whose office oversees operations in Tennessee, said in a statement.“We’re grateful that our team was able to act quickly and help ensure this child’s safety,” Ladwig said. “Supporting our communities and working alongside local law enforcement is a responsibility we take seriously.”The Murfreesboro Police Department returned the little boy to his mother, who told officers that it was the first time her child left their home alone, ICE said.
