Cristian Roldan has been named to the United States’ World Cup roster, according to a report by The Guardian, which says it has obtained the full 26-player roster. Assuming the report is accurate, Roldan would become the first active Sounders player to make two World Cup rosters after previously being named to the 2022 USA team. Somewhat improbably, he would also be one of just 12 players who also made the 2022 roster and the only player from MLS to have pulled that double.

The Seattle Sounders will close out the pre-World Cup portion of their schedule with a road game against LAFC. After blazing starts, both teams have hit a bit of a speedbump, albeit ones of very different sizes.

The Seattle Sounders will be looking to make a little bit of history when they visit LAFC tonight. Although they’ve had some notable postseason wins at BMO Stadium, they’ve never actually won a regular-season game there. In fact, they’ve claimed just a single point in their nine previous trips.

The Seattle Sounders will head into the World Cup break on a bit of a downswing. Their 1–0 loss to LAFC means they close out the first part of their schedule on a 1–2–2 run that came on the heels of a record-tying 6–1–1 start. For much of the LAFC match, it looked like they would at least grab a point but a late Tim Tillman goal proved too much.

Sounders didn’t suddenly turn bad, but their recent struggles show how they must work to improve the roster.
