Child’s Hope in Dearborn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a “go to” in the Out-Wayne County area for child abuse and neglect prevention training and education. The organization provides free prevention training for both adults/caregivers and professionals. In addition, the organization offers free prevention education through children’s programs, and presentations (both in-person and online). The group is funded largely by Michigan’s Children’s Trust Fund to serve its mission.

Autism affects children of every race, ethnic group, and socioeconomic status. African American children are frequently confronted with late diagnosis or misdiagnosis. African American autism support is vital to the development of underserved children. The group’s goal is to help families identify the warning signs of autism early on. The Color of Autism works to help overturn these disparities by helping African Americans with autism reach their full potential. The organization assists in empowering families with information on autism that they can use to advocate for services for their child.
