Every team has a player or two who always goes above and beyond what needs to be done to make a program successful, and yet that player might not get the recognition they deserve.

Allentown and Manasquan are definitely not strangers when it comes to girls lacrosse and the state tournament.

ALLENTOWN — It has been a season for the Allentown girls lacrosse team that saw some challenges along the way, and while the Redbirds usually recovered, unfortunately they had no answer for Manasquan.

Luke Caldwell was one of the most heralded three-sport athletes in Hopewell Valley High history and his dominance has continued at the next level.

It was another amazing season of girls lacrosse in the Colonial Valley Conference as Allentown, Robbinsville and Steinert claimed division titles, while Notre Dame played a nearly flawless game in capturing the CVC Tournament.

It was an interesting season as far as the prep schools in the area as all showed plenty of growth and enjoyed a certain amount of success.

When Dean Schofield was at Pennsbury High the challenge was to win the Suburban One League, and most importantly make sure Neshaminy didn't win the conference.

In so many ways it was a dream season of the baseball diamond for Jordan Raba at Mercer County College. Raba hit .497 on the season, the 4th best average in NJCAA DII baseball.
