LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - As expected it was a hot and sunny Father's Day on the South Plains. In Lubbock the high temperature soared to 106 degrees, just two degrees short of the record on this date in 2023. Most of the region also reported afternoon maximum temperatures above 100 degrees. The cooler areas, at or below 100 degrees, were located in the northeast areas of the region.
