GRANT CITY, Mo. — This group of young Worth County Tigers have a ton of potential and are likely to develop into great players with five freshmen earning spots in Les New's opening night 8-man rotation, but when the going got rough on Monday night, the freshmen knew they could lean on their senior captain.

It has been a full year since North Nodaway senior Saryn Brown has competed in any sport. The basketball star and track and field state medalist tore her ACL in the third game of the season last year and missed the last 12 months.

Aydan Blackford made an instant impact as a freshman three years ago for the North Nodaway boys basketball team. His impact has still been felt the last two seasons, but it has been anything but instant.
