UPDATE: Dunlap fire crews worked a rekindled brush fire Friday night. Just before 8 p.m. on Friday, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to a rekindled brush fire on the southern part of Main Street.

Since the fire is still active, residents should expect to see more smoke in the area today.

Next of kin was notified.

The barn was a total loss, but the fire was prevented from reaching any residences.

It is important to note that dry weather conditions in our area have created a high risk for wildfires.

Several burn bans are now in effect across Northwest Georgia. Walker County, GA : Burn Ban now in effect. An outdoor burning ban is now in effect for Walker County.

A Chattanooga motorcyclist was killed on Saturday in Walker County.

The district, along with the rest of Hamilton County, is under a burn ban until further notice.
