AUBURN — The Highlander Youth Recreation All-Stars stayed alive — in dramatic fashion — in the 12U State Tournament on Friday night.

Recent Charlestown graduate A.J. Todd puts up a shot during the 27th annual Battle of the Bridges All-Star Classic last August. He has signed to continue his career at North Platte (Neb.) Community College.

Highlander Youth Recreation All-Star Ty Richie runs home during the District 5 Tournament last year. On Saturday, Richie picked up the win on the mound while also tripling and touching home four times in HYR’s come-from-behind 9-7 win over Broad Ripple in the 12U State Tournament. HYR was knocked out of the tourney Sunday.

Jeffersonville’s Malachi Crowder passes a ball during the Red Devils’ 3-0 victory over Shawe Memorial in the Jeffersonville Sectional final in May. Crowder recorded more than 1,000 digs in his career and was a two-time Indiana All-Star selection.
