According to a post made online, Marina police officers responded to a drunk, unhoused man at the Walmart parking lot. "After a little back and forth (mostly them screaming at him), the older guy dropped his liquor bottle and struggled to bend down to pick it up. At this point, one of the cops picked it up and CHUCKED it away from him, and the other used both hands to shove him to the ground," the anonymous post claimed. Hopkins said that his department is investigating the allegations. "Because the allegations described were serious and, if true, would be concerning and inconsistent with our department's policies, training, and professional standards, we immediately conducted a thorough review," wrote the chief.
