Planned European Commission reforms to simplify technology rules would erode key privacy and data protection safeguards, according to a letter sent Monday and seen by MLex, in which leading digital rights NGOs warn that the EU's “digital omnibus” package risks deregulating core parts of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, the e-Privacy framework and the AI Act.
