All of southeast Wisconsin saw strong and severe storms Thursday. During the early to late afternoon hours we had a line of severe storms roll in from the west. These storms saw wind gusts over 80 mph in some area. Oshkosh reported a wind gust of 94 mph! The strong winds were responsible for dozens of wind damage reports including building damage, trees down and power outages.

We've had a lot of rain chances to start June. So far this month we are sitting at 3.29" of rain which is an inch and a quarter above average. Currently it is the 17th wettest start to June on record.

Going into the middle of June it is currently the 20th wettest start to the month on record, but if we want to hold on to that top position we are going to need more rain since June is the wettest month of the year, on average. Some light showers are possible on Tuesday. One round rolls in during the morning then We might stay dry for the rest of the morning. More rain is possible Tuesday afternoon and evening with some isolated storms. Any rain on Tuesday should be pretty light with under a tenth of an inch for most, but higher in storms.

Rain is approaching from the west Wednesday morning. Steady rain is likely during the morning hours but severe storms, at least during the morning, are expected to stay to our south. Parts of eastern Iowa are seeing severe thunderstorms and are under watches and warnings to start Wednesday. The steady rain could linger into the early afternoon hours when some of the storms could be a bit stronger.

The holiday weekend is here for Juneteenth on Friday and Father's Day on Sunday. Friday and Saturday will have lots of dry time but rain chances on Sunday are in question. There's not much of a rain chance

We had some rain over the weekend with light steady rain in southern counties on Father's Day. Those showers added a bit more precipitation to a June that was already decently wet. We have now picked up over 4" of rain for the month which is almost a full inch above average. It is currently tied for the 25th wettest start to June on record.

The last week and a half has been on the cool side with consistent high temperatures below average and barely close to average at times, that trend will likely continue through the rest of this week. Highs on Tuesday will stay in the upper 60s in Milwaukee and some lakeside areas with an east wind but inland areas should be in the 70s. The rest of the week stays in the 70s through the end of the week with some rain chances Wednesday and Thursday and another round of a lake breeze Friday and Saturday.

It's a wet start to your Wednesday. Scattered showers and storms have been rolling in since 1 AM Wednesday. We've already had some decent rain in southeast Wisconsin and now some storms are moving in. We may get some dry breaks and the best chance for those might be in the late morning and early afternoon but more scattered showers and storms are possible through the evening.
