KERR COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) declared a flash flood emergency in multiple Texas counties early Thursday

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is launching the Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Fund to support communities impacted by the flooding in its 10-county service area.

The Kerr County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that at least one person has died due to the flooding.

Aerial footage showed many of the 12-foot-long cylindrical buoys floating down the flooded river.

The governor signed the declaration during a news conference in Uvalde County on Friday afternoon.
