I recently watched a terrific television series on Prime call Elkhorn. It is about Teddy Roosevelt and the time he spent in western North Dakota (Medora) after his wife died after giving birth to his daughter and his mother passing away the same day. If you have not seen it I highly recommend it as very insightful into the character of the man who went on to become the 26th President of the United States.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Fergus Falls Police Department, Fergus Falls Fire Department and Ringdahl Ambulance recently responded to a report of a UTV rollover crash on Aug. 1. Sadly the driver of the UTV was an eight-year-old child with no seat belt or helmet. She was pinned under the UTV until family members were able to free her. The child was then was later life-flighted by Life Link to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. I sincerely hope she is okay and makes a full recovery. There was also a juvenile passenger in the vehicle who was wearing a seat belt but no helmet. Thankfully the passenger was not injured.

Recently I saw a commercial for Sling TV saying “All the news, none of the paperboy. Sling lets you do that”. It shows a lady in her robe with a cup of coffee throwing the newspaper from her front porch with the paper getting lodged in the spokes of the wheel there by knocking him off his bicycle.

Without a doubt, 2025 flew by like a flash — and we have every reason to believe 2026 will go by just as fast. It seems like every year moves just a little bit quicker than the last. Sometimes that can be a good thing, but sometimes we wish time could move just a little bit slower to make a special moment last just a little bit longer.
