HAZLE TWP. — When U.S. Housing Secretary Scott Turner and Rep. Rob Bresnahan visited, they saw giant warehouses rising along Route 424 but also heard that workers seeking jobs in the new buildings need housing.

Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission scheduled a pre-hearing on July 10 about an electric company's request to take land from 30 property owners for a high-voltage a power line for the Project Hazelnut data center.

Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission will hold four hearings and visit sites of land that PPL Electric Utilities wants to take by eminent domain along the route of a proposed high-voltage power line that would provide electricity to the Project Hazelnut data center.

The next hearing about the Project Hazelnut data center should be with the Hazle Twp. zoning board not Commonwealth Court, attorneys for the township said.
