Rancho Cotate's softball team scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday at home in Rohnert Park to upset Redwood 6-4 in the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs.

For the first time since 2011, the Justin-Siena softball team is a North Coast Section champion.

“I’m very proud of them,” head coach Zack Pellonari said of his players. “It’s something they can never take away and it’s something they’ll have forever.”
