GREENFIELD — The McCordsville man who failed to register as a sex offender, fled town and was found halfway across the country in Nevada, where officials say they believed he was trying to flee into Mexico, has been sentenced to a total of six and a half years in prison.

HANCOCK COUNTY — It’s been just over a year since a Markleville boy was struck by a vehicle and left on a county road by the driver, Aaron M. McGee. While the child has since made a miraculous recovery, at the time of the crash the child’s injuries were considered catastrophic, “near fatal,” when McGee hit the boy and took off.

HANCOCK COUNTY — While changes to the Indiana high school diploma are not yet official, the process is moving forward. Expected changes could be passed by officials from the Indiana Department of Education before the end of the year.

HANCOCK COUNTY — An inmate in the Hancock County Jail who was charged with a prisoner possessing a dangerous device charge in December 2023 has been charged with the same crime following an incident inside the jail in June.
