GREENFIELD — The 10-year-old child walked into the courtroom clutching two polar bear stuffed animals in her hands, holding them close to her body. After she was sworn in by Judge D.J. Davis, the child told the court she’s spending her summer playing all kinds of different sports.

An Indianapolis man who fled from law enforcement after he barricaded himself inside a New Palestine apartment has been sentenced for felony drug offenses.

Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the woman killed in a traffic accident in Hancock County last week. The woman has been identified as Lihua Wei, 48, Shelbyville. She was involved in a two-vehicle traffic accident June 2 at the intersection of County Road 600 East and U.S. 40.

SHIRLEY — A Shirley man faces multiple child molestation charges, and police say the offenses were committed against a 6-year-old girl. His case was opened in Hancock Circuit Court this week following a 72-hour hold after he was arrested late last week.
