He was born June 29, 1934, to Jerry and Lucile Hobbs, He grew up in Winchester, Ind., and entered the Navy at the age of 17. He was proud of his three years of Navy service and grateful to have, while he was there, met the love of his life, Julia, and enthusiastically converted to Catholicism. His entire life he was zealous in serving God and encouraging others to do the same. Larry and Julia married shortly before he separated from the Navy. They started their family while he was in college and were blessed to bear and raise twelve children. They worked and sacrificed to give them a Catholic education. After earning a degree in electrical engineering, he worked in that field for many years. He eventually started and ran several successful computer companies from the 1970’s to the 1990’s. Larry enjoyed a long retirement, spending time with his family, focusing on his Faith and his favorite pastimes of hunting, fishing and traveling. He loved people, struck up conversations, and made new friends wherever he went, offering encouragement, advice or just a cheerful remark.
