Fresh off a stellar first quarter on Wall Street, the Dow finished the day with a steep triple-digit drop. The S&P 500 finished modestly lower as well, while the Nasdaq traded on both side of the aisle before ultimately closing in the black. Friday's PCE price index reading and subsequent Fed comments were in focus, while Treasury yields clocked their best single-session gain in a month after Fed Chair Powell expressed no rush to cut interest rates any time soon.

Thanks to strong demand, egg producer Cal-Maine Foods Inc (NASDAQ:CALM) announced better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter revenue after the close yesterday. Cal-Maine Foods stock is surging after the news, despite the company also temporarily closing a facility in Texas due to an outbreak of the bird flu.

Health insurance stocks slid yesterday, after final Medicare Advantage (MA) payment rates fell below expectations. The news also impacted CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) stock, which staged a 7.2% drop -- its worst daily percentage loss since August. Shares are only modestly higher in today's recovery -- up 0.7% at $74.37 at last glance.

While Wall Street churns amid a late-day pivot into the red, two reasonably priced big-name stocks, Zeta Global Holdings Corp (NYSE:ZETA) and Hertz Global Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:HTZ) are making outsized moves today following analyst notes.

The market staged quite the reversal, given that all three major benchmarks were on track for substantial gains earlier in the day. The Dow continued its second-quarter slump with a dramatic 530-point loss -- its fourth consecutive daily drop. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq both turned sharply lower as well, the latter falling triple digits.

Shockwave Medical Inc (NASDAQ:SWAV) is in the spotlight today, after blue-chip pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) announced it would buy the company for $12.5 billion, boosting its portfolio of cardiovascular disease treatment devices. SWAV was last seen up 1.8% at $325.77 after the news, while JNJ is down 0.07% at $152.38.

Last week's stellar first-quarter finish was followed up by a fairly brutal start to the month, particularly for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI). The blue-chip index notched four-straight daily losses, three of which were in the triple digits, and marked its worst day in over a year on Thursday with a 530-point drop
