Lawrence Booth Brendon McCullum has been sacked as England's Test coach – with Andy Flower favourite to replace him and return to the role he lost after the 2013-14 Ashes whitewash.

LAWRENCE BOOTH: It felt symbolic that news of Brendon McCullum's sacking as England's Test coach came only the day after his T20 team had moved top of the rankings with a 4-0 thrashing.

The New Zealander was removed from his post on Sunday after four years in the role.
