Workers load up Sidney trash bins for removal at the Custenborder Field parking lot on Wednesday afternoon. After the City of Sidney decided to go with a different garbage removal company there were multiple reports of garbage going uncollected by the outgoing company. Hundreds of the old bins can be seen stacked at the parking lot as they wait to be removed.

Julia Bogart, of Sidney, holds up a sign directing people towards a petition to add a recall provision to the City of Sidney charter. The new provision would allow for citizens to recall City of Sidney Council members which is currently not allowed. The petition signing table was being manned by members of Sidney Citizens for Responsible Development on the south side of the Courtsquare on Wednesday afternoon. Another petition they were having signed would require the City of Sidney to live stream and record all open Sidney City Council meetings. After about an hour the petition had received 32 signatures. The petitions will also be available for signing on Thursday from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. on the sidewalk across from the north side of the Courtsquare. On Friday from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. on the south side of the Courtsquare and on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in front of the former Chase Bank building and also in front of the Right to Life store.
