An event steeped in tradition will again be held. The Elgin Community Club/Chamber of Commerce will again be hosting the ‘Annual Steak Fry’. This year’s event will be held on Friday night, August 7. Tickets will soon be on sale.

Sometimes an opportunity of a lifetime comes along, and we get to be part of something beyond ourselves, beyond our own family farm, and even beyond our own community. Such was the case for Anne and her husband Jim Meis as they traveled to Egypt this July and witnessed the impact of an educational program with the US Soybean Export Council (USSEC) that she has been involved with since 2022.

The Board Meeting of the Village of Bartlett was called to order at 7:15 p.m. on July 13th, 2026. The meeting met at the Village Office, 425 Randolph St. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman S. Plugge. The members present were S. Plugge, M. Nordhues, S. Tetschner and K. Einspahr. Also present: TJ Ellenwood, village clerk and members of the community. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by posting at: Bartlett Post Office, WeMart, and Village Office. Board member Einspahr proclaimed the meetings to be a legal meeting and acknowledged that the Open Meetings Act was posted in the meeting room.

Facing three felony charges, an Oakdale woman made her first appearance in Antelope County Court last week.
