Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has alleged that pressure may have prompted Penguin India to step back from publishing Sonia Gandhi's book in India. Questioning why the book's parent publisher is ready to release it globally, Gehlot linked the issue to freedom of expression and said authors should be free to express their views.

NBEMS announced a re-examination for affected NEET-PG 2026 candidates in Jaipur after technical disruptions at two centres, officials said. Candidates at ION Digital Zone, Sitapura, alleged repeated computer shutdowns delayed the test. NBEMS said internal power supply issues prevented completion and scheduled the re-exam for September 5, 2026, at 3 PM in Jaipur city again.

The move follows a 2023 Rajasthan High Court ruling that held surrogate mothers should not be discriminated against in maternity leave benefits.
