A tour guide holds a picture of the former Knox Barber Shop, which stood on the site of the current Greenfield City Hall in downtown Greenfield. The barbershop was opened by George Knox in the 1860s inside Gooding Tavern. The site would later become the National City Bank, and on this week back in 2001 the Greenfield Board of Works approved a contract to turn the bank building into city hall.

Vacation Bible School season is in full swing, with local churches hosting events through July.

A local family participated in the 2024 Sister Cities of Greenfield 5K with a guest from Kakuda, Japan. This year’s event is Aug. 15 and will also include guests from Japan.

GREENFIELD — Open-air games, live reptiles and silly camp songs were all the rage last week, in the annual community camp that encourages kids to just be kids.

Greenfield Police Department was the first break stop for the Cops Cycling for Survivors event last week, where cyclists bike across Indiana raising funds and support for family and friends of Indiana’ s fallen officers.
