After nearly a decade at the helm of the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association , CEO Steve Walsh has been tapped to lead the American Hospital Association, the national health system organization announced Tuesday.

The agreement includes a 13 percent overall compensation increase over the three-year deal, reimbursement for required medical licensing exams, and 12 weeks of parental leave, among other benefits. It applies to more than 800 doctors represented by the Committee of Interns and Residents, a part of the Service Employees International Union.
