The Adams man who pleaded guilty in a deadly hit-and-run in Pittsfield has begun serving his time in jail. The Berkshire Eagle is reporting that Dyvine Smythe is now serving one to two years in connection with the crash that killed David Frye last year. Smythe was driving a pick-up truck at Wallace and Second Street when he ran over Frye, who was operating a mobility scooter. Smythe says he did not see Frye because of the height of his truck. He reportedly left the scene because he said bystanders were yelling at him and he did not feel safe. He pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
