The National Weather Service sent a survey team today to check out the damage from a storm Thursday afternoon. The damage was consistent with a tornado, rating it an EF-1.

The National Weather Service continues to do surveys of storm damage and as of Monday, April 6, there were three tornadoes from last Thursday, April 2.

TORNADO WATCH is in effect for all of eastern Iowa until 10 PM. Any storm has a chance to be severe with very large hail and/or strong tornadoes. Damaging wind is possible as well.

As of Thursday evening the National Weather Service survey teams shave confirmed five tornadoes from the storms Tuesday evening April 12, 2026.

This Afternoon [Level 2 out of 5 severe risk]: A few storms are possible before 7 PM. There is a low end threat for a strong to severe storm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 7 pm for most of eastern Iowa. Tonight [Level 2 out of 5 severe risk]: Humid with scattered storms.

A FLOOD WATCH is in effect through tonight for areas along and north of Highway 30 (Cedar Rapids).

TORNADO WATCH is in effect much of eastern Iowa until 10 pm. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are possible.
