This week I am interrupting my usual sequential columns to share an amazing event I attended for the first time. It was the North Carolina Rowing Championships held at Oak Hollow Lake. High Point has one person to thank for this honor. He is Gene Kininmonth, founder of High Point Rowing Club. In addition, he serves as head coach of Triad United Rowing Club and race director for the North Carolina Rowing Championships and the High Point Autumn Rowing Festival, an international event!

The Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center is thankful for the generous philanthropic support of our community. In appreciation, the High Point Regional Health Foundation annually hosts The Evening of Gratitude to express their deep appreciation. This is a fun, wonderful event held at the High Point Country Club. I was so disappointed I could not attend this year. I caught whatever “bug” was going around, so much so that I even lost my voice! No one can say “no” to her. One may try, but in the end, Chris Greene will win and be given the coveted “yes.”
