On June 20, 2026, thousands of Iranians gathered in Paris for the Free Iran World Summit, an event carrying profound historical and contemporary significance. Held on the 45th anniversary of June 20, 1981—the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners and the anniversary of the founding of the National Liberation Army of Iran—the summit took place against a deeply turbulent geopolitical backdrop.

On June 21, 2026, the second day of the Free Iran Summit convened in Paris, gathering an international coalition of current and former world leaders, lawmakers, and human rights advocates.

Following the historic Free Iran 2026 summit in Paris, the true momentum of the Iranian opposition is being demonstrated not just on the international stage, but inside Iran's cities. On June 20, an esteemed gathering of international political figures and supporters convened in Paris. During the summit, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), emphasized that change must be driven solely by the Iranian people and their organized resistance. Just days later, on June 29, the PMOI/MEK Resistance Units launched a coordinated campaign across Iran to celebrate the summit and express their explicit support for Maryam Rajavi's Ten-Point Plan.

On July 3, the PMOI/MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan, southeast Iran, resumed their weekly activities, boldly defying the regime's apparatus of repression. In public spaces across the city, these courageous activists held placards with messages of resistance, demonstrating that the organized resistance remains the vanguard for democratic change in Iran. They issued a direct call to students and educators, stating: “To the students: the only way to achieve your demands is solidarity, continuity, and the expansion of protests.”

On July 10, in direct defiance of the heavily militarized, state-sponsored funeral ceremonies for the eliminated supreme leader Ali Khamenei, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units carried out 40 anti-regime activities across Iran. These courageous acts shattered the regime's desperate attempts to project stability, echoing the Iranian people's true desires for regime change and reiterating their commitment to the struggle for a free, democratic republic.

On July 16, 2026, the Italian Chamber of Deputies in Rome hosted a landmark conference titled “Iran's Crisis: The Democratic Path Forward.” Taking place in Regina Hall, the gathering brought together prominent Italian lawmakers, former international officials, and the Iranian democratic opposition during a highly volatile geopolitical climate.

Despite extreme security measures, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units took to the streets of Zahedan on Friday, July 17, reflecting the Iranian people's will to overthrow the ruling theocracy. Holding placards in public spaces, these activists demanded a democratic republic and rejected all forms of dictatorship.
