Nice have suspended defender Youcef Atal over a social media post relating to the Israel-Gaza war. Atal, 27, shared a video on Instagram on Saturday which he then quickly deleted. Atal apologised for the post, which has been widely condemned for being offensive towards Jewish people, but the Nice public prosecutor’s office has opened “a preliminary investigation into charges of glorifying terrorism and public provocation to hatred or violence because of a specific religion”.
