Former President Donald Trump on Monday declined to endorse a federal abortion ban and said that the issue is in the hands of the states in the post- Roe era.

The state's high court said it wouldn't interfere with the legislature's authority to craft abortion policy.

The move highlights the deepening divide between the more socially conservative wing of the party, which opposes abortion on moral grounds, and the more populist, MAGA branch.
