Greg Walsh and Dana Swindler have a running joke about their own timing, and like most good jokes, it lands because it’s true. The first store Greg ever built out began demolition the same week of 9/11. Seven years later, the two of them opened a small men’s shop they called MartinPatrick 3, cut the ribbon, and watched the global economy fall off a cliff a few weeks after. “We always pick the worst times to start,” Greg says, laughing. “That way you’re at the very bottom, and there’s nowhere to go but up.”
