With the passing of Thursday’s qualifying deadline, the races for suburban offices — and who wants the voters’ support — became clearer.

In the release last week, Ford Motor Co. did acknowledge “for some commercial applications and for larger vehicles, the battery cost of a pure electric vehicle remains challenging. Therefore, Ford will develop a new family of electrified three-row SUVs, which will include hybrid technologies.”

Jeff Mayo is remembered as a great leader by the Arlington Community Schools.

Mike Wissman said the Arlington High campus still has room for more additions as needed in the years to come.

Buc-ee’s has completed acquisition of the land for a new location in Fayette County, and construction could begin before the end of the year.

Soccer fields at Arlington’s Forrest Street Park will get new lights after the city received a Local Parks & Recreation Fund grant. An overflow crowd attended the inaugural Music on the Square at The Crossings Amphitheater in Forrest Street Park in May 2021.

The Lakeland School Systems board’s legislative agenda will focus on the school vouchers and Tennessee’s funding formula.
