Khrista Daciw says she's put years into training the service dog that helps her deal with her diabetes, yet she isn't eligible for a benefit that people in the Ontario Disability Support Program can apply for to help offset “routine care” costs. Daciw is frustrated because a tribunal determined in 2023 that a rule requiring service dogs to be trained at a facility accredited by Assistance Dogs International is contrary to human rights, but it's still being enforced.
