A fresh new trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday" is out thanks to the excitement of D23, and it's safe to say fans are more excited than they are already about the upcoming Marvel Studios film. The first teaser, released back in July, gave us a little taste of all the various teams that will take part in "Avengers: Doomsday," including the X-Men, the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Wakandans, and the Fantastic Four. And, of course, we got our first brief glimpse of Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — this time, as Doctor Doom.

With "Avengers: Doomsday" on the way, the world waits with bated breath to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will conclude its epic Multiverse Saga. "Doomsday" will be followed by "Avengers: Secret Wars," and after that, the MCU will look drastically different. For starters, it's likely that one of the first MCU movies landing after "Secret Wars" will be the one that fans have been most desperate for — "X-Men." And on Friday, August 14, during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the company's D23 fan event in Anaheim, California, Marvel Studios just announced key members of the new X-Men cast.

After dominating the zeitgeist for well over a decade, things have been shakier for Marvel in recent years. "Thunderbolts*" was one of the biggest box office flops at the summer 2025 box office, and titles like "Captain America: Brave New World" got dismal reviews from critics. There was a question if audiences would still care about "Avengers: Doomsday" by the time it came out, but based on early box office projections, there should be no worries.
