"Seinfeld" is one of the best sitcoms of all time. Following the show's success, it's safe to say that its co-creator, Larry David, had carte blanche to do whatever he wanted next. And what he chose to do was largely in the same style as "Seinfeld" but with a bit more creative freedom. David took his sensibilities from NBC to HBO and launched "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

There's a fine art to the craft of the celebrity roast. These events are special occasions where actors, musicians, and, yes, future presidents of the United States gather with a dais full of friends and comedians who take them down a notch. It's a rare moment when celebrities feel less like deities are more like a punching bag. It's one of the few times you can say something exceptionally mean to someone's face, and they can't get mad at you... usually.

It seems like we're destined to do this dance forever. Disney will continue cranking out live-action remakes of its beloved animated classics as long as they keep making truckloads of money, and not even poor critical reception will slow this wagon down. As such, it's no surprise that the first batch of critic reviews to 2026's "Moana" are overwhelmingly negative. Looper's video above has collected a ton of responses, but here are the highlights.

A live-action "Moana" movie is in theaters, and just like pretty much every other Disney live-action remake, it's awful. Critics didn't hold back in their "Moana" reactions, referring to it as a carbon copy of the far superior original. But that seems to be studios' M.O. with these adaptations, from "The Lion King" to "How To Train Your Dragon."

Every generation gets its own mummy movie. Kids growing up in the'90s had "The Mummy" action-adventure series starring Brendan Fraser. But that was more akin to "Indiana Jones" than any traditional horror flick. Lee Cronin has brought the monster back to its roots with his take on the "Mummy" iconography.

When it comes to zombie TV shows, few manage to stand at the same heights as "The Walking Dead." A big part of that is how all-encompassing the show became in the larger television landscape. It ran for 11 seasons and kept going even when the show's protagonist, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), stepped away. It even spawned numerous spinoffs, so the show still has a lot of social cache to this day.

There are a ton of great things to enjoy in 2022's "The Batman." It makes Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) a legit detective in trying to unravel the rot at the heart of Gotham; and it manages to flesh out its world without rehashing things like Bruce's parents' deaths, which so many films have done before. Our main gripe with the film is that it's now taking forever to get a sequel going.

Warner Bros. Pictures released a teaser in June for Tom Cruise's new movie, "Digger," that basically marketed it as "Tom Cruise: The Movie." The clip was a retrospective look at Cruise's best movies that ended with a few brief snippets of "Digger," directed by Alejandro Iñárritu. Now, Warner Bros. has dropped a proper trailer giving us a better look at Cruise and the story as a whole, and we don't mind saying it — Cruise may finally win an Oscar.
