(THREE RIVERS) - One of the longest running festivals in St. Joseph County starts today. The 69th Three Rivers Water Festival is getting underway with several long time events and some new ones as well. The Ambassador For Christ Chicken & Ribs BBQ will be happening along with the Lions Club Ox Roast. There will also be food vendors set up at the festival sites.

(STURGIS) - After over 100 years of operation, Sturgis Hospital has closed their doors. At 12 PM on Friday, the staff of Sturgis Hospital walked out the door for the final time. It was announced on Tuesday that the decision had been made for Sturgis Hospital to cease operations.

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A state of disaster emergency has been declared for 63 Indiana counties, including three in Northeast Indiana. Governor Mike Braun made the announcement Friday for the 63 counties, which includes LaGrange, Steuben and Elkhart.

Casino Sight Proposed At Walters Lake In Fremont 6/19/2026 Burke/Stiles (FREMONT) - A specific property is now being publicly identified as a potential location for a future casino-resort in Steuben County.

(COLDWATER) - A suspect has been arrested for trying to purchase items at a Coldwater store with a fake identification. Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship says at 11:30 AM Friday his deputies responded to Planet Powersports after receiving a report that a man was trying to purchase two jet skis and a trailer using a fraudulent identification and another person's identity.

(THREE RIVERS) - It's the final day of the 69th Three Rivers Water Festival and there's a full slate of activities. There will be a classic car, truck & motorcycle show in the Historic downtown area until 2 PM. Also going on during the car show will be the Women's Club Pie Sale by the slice.

(LANSING) - Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Tuesday that she is appealing the decision to deny Federal disaster assistance to counties following the March 6 tornadoes. Whitmer says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is denying Federal disaster assistance through the Individual Assistance Program for residents of St. Joseph, Branch and Cass Counties affected by a deadly tornado outbreak that caused widespread destruction.

(ROMEO) - Sturgis Schools Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert is one of six candidates vying to be superintendent for Romeo Schools. In a posting on the Romeo Schools website, the Romeo Board of Education announced that they have six individuals they will conduct first round interviews with this week.

(MENDON) - A 35 year career in education is coming to an end for a local individual. Mendon Superintendent Leasa Griffith-Mathews has announced that she is retiring effective December 31 of this year. In a media release, Griffith-Mathews says it is with profound mixed emotions that she makes this announcement. She says after dedicating 35 years of her life to the field of education with the last eight as Superintendent, it's time to begin a new chapter.
