The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office mistakenly released a man awaiting trial on multiple violent charges after a paperwork error, officials said Tuesday.

Ramaya Silvan, 18, died of gunshot wounds in the 3800 block of Hollygrove Street at around 3:35 p.m. Sunday.
