MONROE — The WIAA recently released its completed softball brackets for the 2024 playoffs, where defending state champion Brodhead earned the No. 1 seed in its sectional and a bye into the regional semifinals.

WHITEWATER — Entering the 11-team Rock Valley Conference Meet on May 10, Monroe knew it would have to exceed expectations in order to win the traveling trophy. Brodhead-Juda girls were favored by 27 points on heat sheets and Whitewater boys had more talent in running events.
BELLEVILLE — Sugar River, ranked No. 9 in Division 3, didn’t allow a single goal en route to its first-place finish in the 19th annual Swiss Kick on May 11.

MUSCODA — With its 5-0 win over No. 19 Riverdale on May 14 — paired with Mineral Point’s 5-2 loss to Fennimore — Darlington clinched at least a share of the SWAL title. The Redbirds can earn the championship outright with a win over the Golden Eagles on May 17.
BELOIT — Monroe rose to the occasion, shutting out East Troy 6-0 on May 14 at ABC Supply Stadium, home of the Beloit Sky Carp. The Cheesemakers scored five of their six runs with two outs.
BELLEVILLE — With a pair of 8-0 wins over Columbus and Wisconsin Heights May 13-14, Sugar River clinched at least a share of its seventh straight Capitol Conference title. The Raiders, ranked No. 9 in Division 3, can earn the championship outright with a win over Lodi on May 21.
JANESVILLE — The battle for the Rock Valley-Rock Conference title went down to the wire at the league meet on May 15. Just three points separated Monroe and East Troy entering the event, and although the Cheesemakers fell to the Trojans by just one stroke, that 3-point lead was enough padding to win the conference title.
