Today, JetBlue has announced that a new “BlueFirst” cabin, a pseudo-first-class experience on domestic routes that do not have Mint cabins, will be coming later this year. Along with that news came the announcement that they are bringing the “basic economy” experience to both Even More and that new first class cabin. That's a bummer since it means that you may book a first class ticket or an Even More space ticket and be unable to select your seat (and also face a fee if you need to change or cancel).

One of the more common questions that we sometimes get from blog readers and podcast listeners is whether or not we buy travel insurance and whether we have any recommendations for the insurance that people should consider. Travel insurance is a topic about which some people have very passionate opinions, but over the last couple of decades, I've almost never purchased it. A large part of the reason I haven't purchased travel insurance is because of the protections offered by many of the credit cards I use to book travel. However, I have recently been considering an annual insurance policy to complement my credit card protections, so I wanted to take a look at some of the reasons to consider it and some of the things that I will personally be looking for in a travel insurance policy.

As someone who holds a number of ultra-premium travel-related credit cards, one of the things I find most tedious is needing to log in to multiple sites to search for qualifying properties where I can use any of my multitude of credits, whether for lodging, dining, or otherwise.

Starting 8/15/26, you will no longer be able to enter Sapphire Lounges with a Priority Pass. Only eligible Chase cardholders will have access (see below). Once that happens, the permissible entry period will increase from 3 hours prior to departure to 5 hours.

For the next ten days, Emirates is running a partner award sale that could offer some great deals on domestic United flights.

When it comes to ultra-premium credit card lodging credits, I've probably been least enthusiastic about The Edit credits from the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. There are not that many qualifying properties, and there are even fewer qualifying properties in a price range that appeals to me.
