The East Haven Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Marjoram Fresh Kitchen, 420 Main Street, East Haven, to town. “Great food! Great people,” say the folks at the chamber. The owner, Berioska Suero, plans to focus on health foods that are delicious as well. I look forward to trying it out!

I wanted to have some friends over for brunch recently, but there was just one problem. Well, more than just one. Books. Stacks of books. Stacks and stacks and stacks of books, books, books that have accumulated on my dining room table over the course of the past few years.

The Guilford Board of Selectmen (BOS) plans to host an informational meeting to discuss residents' concerns about a clinic planned for 439 Boston Post Road in Guilford that will treat people with opioid use disorder. APT Foundation officials have said the clinic will provide treatment to APT Foundation clients, including more than 50 people in Guilford and several hundred people on the shoreline from Branford to New London, who currently have to travel to New Haven or New London for treatment, some of them having to take trips daily.

I popped by Moon Shots, 1063 Boston Post Rd, Guilford, to pick up a quick cup of coffee. Just a cup of coffee! That's it! Then I saw their new Winter Warm Menu. I stayed for lunch, having purchased a Fusion Bone Broth Bowl with an egg on top and a Thai iced tea with pretty purple ube cream on top. I settled into a comfy chair amidst the hubbub of the lunch hour just kicking off and browsed through the old-timey books they have scattered about.

On an unseasonably warm and then rainy Tuesday evening–following a day packed with work, school, and other everyday family obligations–hundreds of Guilford residents weighed in on efforts to support people suffering from opioid use disorder. Those include about 55 people from Guilford, 97 people from Branford, 33 people from North Branford, and 22 people from Madison who currently are taking prescribed medicine that reduces symptoms of opiate withdrawal and blocks the euphoric effects of illegal drugs so that these people can continue with their recovery, going to work, going to school, and caring for their families.

The Presidential Preference Primary will be held on April 2, and this year's election will launch early voting in Connecticut. This is the first election in Connecticut to have early voting available. There will be four days of early voting for that election, with early voting available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26; Wednesday, March 27; Thursday, March 28; and Saturday, March 30.
